FAQ

Which size is extracted from a multi-size ICO file?

ICO files can contain multiple image sizes (e.g. 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, 256×256). The browser renders the ICO at its largest available size when loading it as an image. The PNG output will reflect that size.

Will transparency be preserved?

Yes. If the ICO file has transparent areas (as most icon files do), the PNG output will also have transparent areas, since PNG supports full alpha channel transparency.

Is the conversion done in my browser or on a server?

The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your file is never uploaded to any server.
